Russian President Vladimir Putin is open to holding talks with US President Joe Biden, but no discussions between Moscow and Washington have taken place yet, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
Biden had earlier mentioned the possibility of meeting Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Brazil this November.
However, Peskov confirmed that there are currently no prerequisites or plans for such talks. He added that Putin remains open to any contacts.
On October 3, Biden did not rule out the chance of meeting Putin at the G20 or APEC summits but expressed doubt about the Russian president’s attendance.
The G20 summit will be held in Brazil on November 18-19, while the APEC summit is scheduled for November 9-16 in Peru.
