Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas strongly condemned the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniya, describing the incident as a cowardly act and a dangerous development.
Abbas, also known as Abu Mazen, called on the Palestinian people and their factions to unite, be patient, and stand firm against the Israeli occupation. His statement was reported by the Palestinian news agency, WAFA.

Our leader and martyr, Ismail Haniyeh, was assassinated in a treacherous Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran, after attending the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president.”
