The world of tech titans is set to witness a sensational face-off, as Elon Musk, the owner of the platform “X” (formerly known as “Twitter”), announced a live-streamed Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) match against Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. This showdown will be available for viewers exclusively on the “X” platform.
The American billionaires locked in on this thrilling MMA match set in a cage in Las Vegas, following a series of playful exchanges online. In an early Sunday post on “X”, Musk confirmed, “The battle will be broadcasted live on X. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans,” as reported by Reuters.
The engagement began in June when Musk tweeted his eagerness for a “cage fight” with Zuckerberg. Not one to back down, Zuckerberg retweeted Musk’s challenge, cheekily adding, “Point me to the location.” Musk’s retort? “Vegas Octagon” – referring to the iconic eight-sided cage frequently associated with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) matches held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Though Musk jokingly mentioned, “I generally don’t exercise, except for playing with my kids and tossing them in the air,” Zuckerberg has been undergoing MMA training. He’s even celebrated recent wins in Jiu-Jitsu self-defense tournaments.
With two of tech’s biggest names set to clash, the world is eagerly waiting for this unlikely showdown.
