Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) expressed its deep outrage and condemnation on Tuesday evening following the death of one of its staff members in an attack on Gaza City, northern Gaza Strip.

According to a press release from MSF’s mission in Jerusalem, the physiotherapist, named Fadi Al-Wadiya, was killed alongside five others, including three children, near an MSF clinic.

Al-Wadiya, 33, a father of three, was riding his bicycle to work to provide medical care to others when the incident occurred.

Al-Wadiya joined MSF in 2018 and is the sixth MSF staff member in the region to be killed since the onset of the conflict on October 7.

Caroline Seguin, MSF’s Director of Operations in Palestine, expressed her dismay, stating, “The killing of a healthcare worker on his way to provide vital medical care to the wounded victims of the ongoing massacres in Gaza is deeply shocking and reprehensible.”

MSF emphasized the critical need for an immediate and sustainable ceasefire to prevent further casualties and to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
