Microsoft has unveiled a slew of AI-enhanced features for its SwiftKey mobile keyboard app, designed for iOS and Android users.
This third-party app, renowned for its smart keyboard which adapts to individual writing styles for quicker typing, is getting more advanced.
The new offerings include AI camera lenses, AI stickers, an AI-enhanced editor, and a feature to generate AI-based images.
The introduction of AI camera lenses enables users to capture photos, videos, and GIFs with a variety of effects.
Notably, some of these effects are a result of Microsoft’s partnership with Snapchat creator, Snap. Microsoft highlighted that users now have access to over 250 tools and filters for enhanced self-expression.
Additionally, with the integration of Bing’s Image Creator, users can design AI stickers using their own images or selfies. These stickers can be shared across multiple communication platforms like WhatsApp and Messenger.
SwiftKey now also lets users access Bing Image Creator directly from the keyboard, offering the functionality to either capture a new photo or upload an existing one to fetch Visual Search outcomes from Bing.
Furthermore, the app introduces an AI-backed “Editor” to assist users in refining their grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
By simply highlighting any text, users will receive immediate feedback and recommendations from this editor.
Earlier this year, Microsoft integrated Bing with SwiftKey, providing functionalities like Bing search, Bing Chat, and AI-driven text tone customization.
These updated features are currently being rolled out to SwiftKey users on both iOS and Android platforms.
Microsoft revealed plans to integrate OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 image generator into its chat feature, allowing users to produce images by typing brief descriptions.
Set for a release to ChatGPT’s enterprise clientele in October, the exact launch date for DALL-E 3 on Bing remains unspecified. Additionally, Bing is enhancing its shopping capabilities, prompting users with tailored questions to help them identify the ideal product.
Users can also discover and apply discount codes. Benefiting from recalling past conversations, Bing offers more personalized responses. Bing was an early beneficiary of Microsoft’s collaboration with OpenAI, with the company aiming to further fortify the platform.
