Libya’s Presidential Council Head Mohamed Al-Menfi and Sudan’s Sovereign Council Chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan have agreed to exchange delegations and activate signed agreements between the two nations.

During their discussions in Tripoli on Monday, both leaders reviewed ways to support and develop bilateral relations, focusing on issues of mutual interest to foster peace and stability in Sudan and the region.

Al-Burhan praised Libya’s positive stance, as expressed by Al-Menfi in regional and international forums, advocating for Sudan’s unity, national security, stability, and opposition to negative foreign interventions.

Al-Menfi welcomed Al-Burhan at Mitiga International Airport, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the National Unity Government’s forces, General Mohamed Al-Haddad, members of the Joint Military Committee (5+5) from the western region, and the Acting Foreign Minister, Taher Al-Siwi.

Al-Burhan’s official visit, at Al-Menfi’s invitation, aims to discuss bilateral relations, enhancement methods, and shared concerns.

Al-Menfi assured that Sudanese refugees fleeing conflict will receive equal treatment in the education and health sectors, similar to Libyan citizens.

In a joint press conference, Al-Menfi emphasized the principle of non-interference in Sudan’s internal affairs, politically or militarily.

Al-Burhan highlighted discussions on Sudan’s crisis and bilateral relations, noting that Sudanese in Libya feel at home and announced plans to boost economic and military cooperation.
