Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lodged 22 complaints against Israel with the Secretary-General of the UN and the President of the Security Council since the start of Israeli attacks last October.
In a statement, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry stated that “Lebanon has documented, through these complaints, Israel’s violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and urged Security Council members to condemn these attacks and to restrain Israel from violating Lebanese sovereignty, thereby preventing the outbreak of a widescale regional war.”
According to the statement, some of these complaints included Lebanon’s detailed responses to Israeli claims accusing Lebanon of violating Resolution 1701.
“Lebanon has presented to the UN Security Council a roadmap and a vision for achieving sustainable stability in southern Lebanon through the comprehensive and integrated implementation of Resolution 1701,” the statement added.
Earlier today, Lebanese media reported casualties in the town of Al-Habariyah in southern Lebanon due to an Israeli airstrike on a medical center in the town.
The Lebanese news agency, “Al-Nashra,” reported that Israeli aircraft targeted the Islamic Relief Center in Al-Habariyah early Wednesday.
Agency sources noted that “Israeli airstrikes resulted in the deaths of 7 individuals, including both fatalities and injuries, from the Islamic Group in Lebanon.”
