Several Palestinian civilians were injured today, Friday, during confrontations with Israeli occupation forces in various parts of the West Bank during their anti-settlement marches.
Among the injured was Minister Muayed Shaaban, head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority, who suffered bruises to the abdomen and chest area after an attack by Israeli occupation forces. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. This resulted from the suppression by occupation forces of participants in the weekly march held in Deir Istiya, west of Salfit, against the new settlement outpost that settlers are attempting to establish in the Al-Qa’ida area north of the town.
In the town of Kafr Qaddum, citizens were choked due to the use of tear gas by occupation forces during clashes that broke out following the launch of the weekly march east of Qalqilya. Clashes also erupted between Palestinian youths and occupation forces and settlers who stormed the spring of Qaryut, south of Nablus, during which occupation soldiers fired gas bombs at the Palestinian citizens.
Dozens of settlers stormed the spring of Qaryut, protected by occupation forces, raided the area and performed provocative dances. Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayers at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the strict military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on the entrances to the Old City in occupied Jerusalem.
The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem estimated that about 50,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Occupation forces spread through the streets of the city and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, positioned at its gates, and scrutinized the identification cards of the worshipers.
