The Jordanian army responded on Tuesday to reports claiming the killing of a Jordanian citizen who had crossed the border into Israeli territory.

In a statement, the Jordanian army denied the validity of the Israeli media reports on the matter, confirming that the infiltrator was not Jordanian.

The statement quoted a responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces as saying, “The circulated information in the media about the killing of an infiltrator after crossing the Jordanian border to the west belongs to an individual of non-Jordanian nationality.”

It is worth noting that the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation had earlier mentioned that Israeli security forces killed a person attempting to cross the border from Jordan.
