The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the attack by extremist settlers on a Jordanian aid convoy headed to Gaza via the Beit Hanoun/Erez crossing today, Tuesday.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, held Israel responsible for the assault on the aid convoys. He emphasized that the failure of the Israeli government to fulfill its responsibilities as the occupying power and its allowance of such attacks constitute a breach of its legal obligations.
Ambassador Al-Qudah reiterated his call for the international community to assume its responsibilities and adopt a clear international stance condemning the ongoing Israeli violations of international law and humanitarian law.
He urged the international community to enforce Israel’s compliance with these laws, ensure the safe passage of aid convoys, and guarantee their entry into the Gaza Strip while stopping settler assaults on them.
He reported that the convoy, organized by the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, was attacked by extremist settlers today while en route to the Beit Hanoun/Erez crossing and tampered with its cargo.
Despite the attack, the convoy continued its mission, driven by Jordan’s commitment to delivering humanitarian aid to the Palestinian brethren in Gaza, and successfully reached its destination.
