U.S. First Lady Jill Biden arrived in Cairo on Friday and met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his wife Entisar at the capital’s Ittihadya palace.

Biden met with women and youth in the Arab Republic, affirming that the US investments aimed at supporting education initiatives and boosting economic opportunity, the US embassy in Cairo said.

The embassy also indicated that the visit reaffirms the commitment of the US to strengthening partnerships and advancing shared priorities in the region.

Meanwhile, the American First Lady is expected to visit a technical school in Cairo and later meet young Egyptians at Al Azhar mosque.

Egypt marks Biden’s second stop on a four-country tour in the region which started with Jordan to attend the wedding of Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah that was held on Thursday.

“Thank you for the warm welcome to Egypt, “Umm al-Dunya”, Mrs. Entissar Amer!,” she shared on Twitter.

Last year, President Joe Biden visited Egypt for several hours to attend the UN climate summit in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh.
