On Saturday, the Israeli army announced the killing of two senior officials from Hamas’ military wing in Lebanon.

In a joint operation between the Israeli army and the Shin Bet security service, Israeli fighter jets killed Mohammad Hussein Ali Mahmoud, a key Hamas operative in Lebanon responsible for directing activities in the West Bank, according to an official statement.

The statement further noted that another Hamas military figure, Saeed Alaa Naif Ali, who led attacks against Israeli targets and recruited members for Hamas in Lebanon, was also killed in Tripoli.

These actions are part of Israel’s ongoing campaign to target Hamas operations that pose a threat to Israeli citizens. Hamas confirmed the deaths of both leaders in Israeli airstrikes in the Bekaa Valley and Tripoli.

Israel has ramped up its strikes in Lebanon amid escalating hostilities with Hezbollah and alongside its ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza.
