An “Al Arabiya” and “Al Hadath” correspondent reported that a building in the Israeli settlement of Yaara, near the Lebanese border, was directly hit by a missile. The attack resulted in the death of an Israeli soldier and several civilian injuries.

Israel’s Channel 12 indicated that initial reports suggest a drone, launched from Lebanon, exploded in an Israeli town in the western Galilee. Israeli civilians were injured as a fire broke out following the explosion of the drone in Yaara.

“Yedioth Ahronoth” newspaper confirmed a direct hit in northern Israel due to the drone and missile attacks from southern Lebanon. The newspaper added that three drones and 10 rocket-propelled grenades were launched from Lebanon.

The Israeli army announced that it successfully intercepted some aerial targets, while others fell in the Yaara area.

On Sunday, an “Al Arabiya” and “Al Hadath” correspondent reported that a Hezbollah member named Fadi Kanaan was killed in an Israeli drone strike on a motorcycle in the town of Shebaa, southern Lebanon. The correspondent also mentioned that the Israeli army conducted another airstrike in the center of Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon.

Three soldiers from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were injured, as confirmed by a UNIFIL statement, due to an “explosion” near their vehicle amidst ongoing cross-border exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israel.

Since October 8, following the start of the war in Gaza after an unprecedented Hamas attack on southern Israel, Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging fire almost daily across the border.

Earlier, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that “Israeli warplanes carried out two consecutive airstrikes on the town of Al-Dhahira,” about one kilometer from Yarin, resulting in “casualties.”

A source from UNIFIL, who preferred to remain anonymous, suggested that the explosion that injured the UN soldiers was likely caused by a nearby airstrike rather than a direct targeting.

Meanwhile, the exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Israel at the border continues.

Earlier, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health announced the death of one person and the injury of another “in an Israeli airstrike” that targeted a “motorcycle” in the town of Shebaa in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah later stated that it had bombed a military post in northern Israel “with volleys of Katyusha rockets” in response to the Israeli military’s assault and assassination in the town of Shebaa.

The escalation across the border has resulted in the deaths of at least 582 people in Lebanon, most of them Hezbollah fighters, along with at least 128 civilians, according to a count by AFP based on Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah and other groups’ statements.

Israeli authorities have reported the deaths of 22 soldiers and at least 26 civilians since the escalation began, including 12 in the Syrian Golan Heights.
