Raed Al-Namms, the Media Director for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, has accused the Israeli military of attempting to destroy the healthcare infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
In a phone interview with Cairo News Channel, Al-Namms expressed concerns over the dire healthcare situation, stating that hundreds of thousands of Gazans are currently without access to medical services, posing a severe risk to their lives.
Al-Namms highlighted the extreme measures hospitals in Gaza are forced to resort to, such as conducting surgeries without anesthesia due to the lack of necessary supplies.
This situation underscores the grave challenges faced by patients in need of medical care. He also noted that since the onset of the conflict, Israeli operations have specifically targeted hospitals and medical service providers, putting additional strain on the already crumbling healthcare system.
Medical personnel, according to Al-Namms, are not only facing direct attacks but also arrests and interrogations, particularly those working in Al-Amal Hospital and Nasser Medical Complex.
He further criticized the Israeli forces for forcing patients out of besieged hospitals while targeting anyone attempting to leave, aiming to maximize casualties and injuries.
