In a humanitarian effort to address the plight of displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Egypt has commenced the establishment of a camp in Khan Yunis, located in the southern part of the region. According to Al Qahera News TV Channel, citing anonymous sources, the work on the camp is anticipated to be completed by the end of this week.
The camp, designed to provide shelter for displaced individuals, is expected to boast a capacity of 400 tents, accommodating approximately 4,000 people. Notably, the facilities will be equipped with essential amenities such as electricity and bathrooms, aiming to alleviate the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian population, as reported by the Arab World News Agency.
The initiative reflects Egypt’s commitment to extending a helping hand to those affected by displacement in the region. The establishment of the Khan Yunis camp is just the beginning, as the television channel reported that further efforts are underway. Plans include the creation of another camp north of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, along with the setup of a field hospital and two aid distribution centers in the Palestinian city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
This move by Egypt demonstrates a significant step toward providing humanitarian relief to those affected by the persistent challenges in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing the needs of displaced populations.
