In a significant development, Israeli forces have stormed the Kamal Adwan Hospital, the sole operational medical facility in the northern Gaza Strip, on Tuesday.
The hospital had been under siege and subjected to bombardment for several days before the incursion, as confirmed by Gaza’s Health Ministry in an official statement.
According to Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Israeli soldiers instructed all men present, including medical personnel, to assemble in the hospital courtyard.
The move has raised apprehensions about the potential arrest of medical staff members, heightening concerns about the safety and well-being of those seeking medical attention.
Expressing deep concern, al-Qedra called upon international bodies, including the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to take immediate action to save and protect the lives of individuals within the hospital.
The situation underscores the urgency of addressing humanitarian concerns and ensuring the safeguarding of medical facilities and personnel in conflict zones.
