Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticised French President Emmanuel Macron on Saturday for suggesting a halt to arms supplies to Israel as the country faces conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.

In a statement, Netanyahu said, “As Israel fights the forces of barbarism led by Iran, all civilised countries should be standing firmly by Israel’s side. Yet, President Macron and other Western leaders are calling for arms embargoes against Israel. Shame on them.”

Netanyahu highlighted that Iran continues to arm its proxies, including Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Hamas, while Western nations are pushing for an embargo on Israel. He described this stance as disgraceful and emphasised Israel’s determination to win, despite the lack of support from certain countries.

“Rest assured, Israel will fight until the battle is won — for our sake and for the sake of peace and security in the world,” Netanyahu concluded.
