Early on Sunday morning, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced the targeting of the Israeli Ministry of Defense headquarters with drones.
In a statement released via Telegram, the resistance said, “The fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted, in the early hours of Sunday, using drones, the headquarters building of the Zionist entity’s Ministry of Defense on our occupied lands.”
The statement continued, “This qualitative operation comes during these blessed nights to reaffirm our commitment to targeting the enemy’s strongholds and our completion of the second phase of the resistance operations against the occupation.
It added that this will escalate during the blessed month of Ramadan in support of our people in Gaza and response to the Zionist massacres against innocent Palestinian civilians.
There have been no reports from Israel regarding this attack or whether the drones reached their destination.
Last January, the group confirmed its execution of an attack on the Ain al-Assad Airbase located in the western province of Anbar, Iraq.
The resistance indicated that the attack, which took place on 26 January, was carried out using drones and resulted in precise strikes on American targets within the base.
The Islamic Resistance revealed that their fighters launched a drone attack on the occupied Ain al-Assad Airbase in western Iraq. This comes as part of a series of recent assaults targeting the base.
A UN mission formed to assist Iraq in investigating allegations of genocide and war crimes committed by the extremist terrorist group ISIS was forced to end its work prematurely before completing the investigations, due to strained relations with the Iraqi government.
The cancellation of the mission, which was established in 2017, comes nearly ten years after the extremist group swept through Syria and Iraq. Many victims of the group remain displaced in camps, longing for justice.
