In a statement released on Saturday, armed Iraqi factions known as the “Islamic Resistance” announced that they targeted the Ramon Airbase located in the occupied territories early in the morning.
According to the factions, they launched a strike on the Israeli Ramon Airbase using a developed cruise missile called “Al-Urqab” as part of their ongoing resistance against the occupation.
This action is also stated to be in solidarity with the people of Gaza and in response to what they describe as the Israeli entity’s atrocities against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
Earlier, the same factions targeted the Nevatim Airbase in Be’er Sheva with drones, showcasing their continued efforts to challenge Israeli military infrastructure.
Additionally, they revealed that another significant site in Eilat within the occupied Palestinian territories was targeted using two drones in the early hours of the day.
This attack is seen as part of the Iraqi factions’ broader strategy to support Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation forces.
The “Islamic Resistance” claims responsibility for targeting what they describe as a vital location in the city of Eilat, located in southern Israel, using drones.
The Ramon Airbase, situated in the Negev Desert in southern Israel, is a crucial military installation for the Israeli Air Force (IAF).
Its strategic significance lies in its role in Israel’s defense architecture. The recent strike by Iraqi factions underscores the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, particularly concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and wider regional dynamics.
