Iraq has expressed its willingness to support Oman in its fight against terrorism, drawing on Iraq’s extensive experience and resources in this area.
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency on Monday, announced that the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister met with Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, in Muscat. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister also extended condolences to Oman following a terrorist attack targeting a mosque and reiterated Iraq’s readiness to assist Oman in its counter-terrorism efforts.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening communication and conducting joint meetings to achieve positive outcomes for both nations.
The Omani minister acknowledged Iraq’s success in overcoming recent challenges and expressed Oman’s commitment to further developing bilateral relations, particularly given Iraq’s current security and economic stability.
Iraq and Oman share a long-standing and strong relationship that has been reinforced through recent diplomatic engagements. The talks also focused on deepening cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields. Both countries expressed mutual interest in fostering regional security and addressing shared challenges, such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Oman and Iraq are committed to promoting peace, stability, and respect for international law in the region
