The Israeli military reported on Wednesday that several of its Air Force bases were damaged following an Iranian missile attack on Tuesday evening, which involved around 180 missiles targeting both military and populated areas in Israel.
Despite the attack, no civilians, soldiers, or aircraft were harmed, according to the Israel Air Force (IAF). The military emphasised that none of its jets were hit by the missiles, thanks to intelligence efforts and other protective measures.
Although the missile strike caused some damage to army bases, the impact was not significant enough to disrupt the IAF’s operations, allowing airstrikes on targets in Gaza and Lebanon to continue uninterrupted.
The Iranian missile barrage, which triggered bomb shelter alarms for nearly 10 million Israelis, was largely intercepted by Israel’s defence systems. Contrary to Iran’s claims, the missiles were not hypersonic, according to the Israeli military.
