In recent days, Iran has consistently affirmed its readiness to negotiate with Western powers to restart nuclear talks that stalled years ago, despite ongoing regional tensions, particularly between Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iran’s strongest ally, and Israel.
On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated this stance. Speaking with IRNA news agency, he stated, “Returning to the negotiating table is the prevailing tone in our discussions with European countries.”
From New York, where he is attending the UN General Assembly, Araghchi emphasised, “There is no other way to verify the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program except through negotiations.”
He added, “If they have concerns, trust can only be built through dialogue. There is no alternative—not through sanctions, pressure, or threats.
