Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has released footage of its recent operation targeting Israeli spy equipment at a radar site in the occupied Shebaa Farms, Lebanon.
In a statement released on Monday, Hezbollah claimed the attack was in solidarity with the “resilient Palestinian people of Gaza and in support of their valiant and honourable resistance.”
The group stated that on Sunday, April 14, 2024, their fighters struck the Israeli surveillance installations with precision.
As the exchange of fire continues along the Lebanese-Israeli border, Hezbollah announced on Monday that it had carried out five operations against the Israeli military.
These actions were in response to Israeli attacks on the Syrian capital of Damascus and the city of Aleppo, and were meant to show support for Gaza.
The attacks come amid growing international and UN calls for de-escalation between the parties, fearing a broader escalation of the conflict.
This is particularly concerning following an Iranian attack on Israel in retaliation for an Israeli strike on its consulate in Damascus.
Hezbollah has declared that it will halt its operations only if the Israeli aggression towards Gaza ceases.
The Israeli military announced that it will soon mobilize two divisions of reserve forces for operations in the Gaza Strip, where it is waging a war against Hamas.
According to the military, “Based on the situation assessment, the Israeli Army will mobilize up to two reserve brigades to conduct operational activities on the Gaza front,” without providing further details.
