Hezbollah has announced that it targeted buildings housing Israeli soldiers in the settlement of Shtula, located in northern Israel.
Since 8 October 2023, Lebanese and Palestinian factions, particularly Hezbollah, have been engaging in daily exchanges of fire with the Israeli army across the “Blue Line” border.
These confrontations have resulted in hundreds of casualties, predominantly on the Lebanese side.
The factions have conditioned the cessation of these attacks on Israel ending its war on the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing since October 7.
The conflict in Gaza has led to over 126,000 Palestinian casualties, including many women and children, and more than 10,000 people reported missing.
Earlier this week, the Israeli military reported that its fighter jets struck a building in Rab Thalathin, southern Lebanon, following a rocket attack on Israel.
Mmultiple rockets were launched from the Rab Thalathin area towards Misgav Am in northern Israel.
Most of the rockets were intercepted by air defenses. Shortly after the rocket attack, two Hezbollah operatives were spotted entering a building in the town, which was then targeted by an Israeli fighter jet.
Israel dropped leaflets instructing residents of Gaza to move south, warning that the area would remain a dangerous combat zone as the army targets Hamas.
International organisations have cautioned that the escape routes are “chaotic” and dangerous.
The leaflets, addressed to “everyone in Gaza,” provided routes to designated safe areas further south and emphasised the city’s continued danger. Israel first issued a formal evacuation order for part of Gaza on June 27, followed by two more in subsequent days.
