Lebanese Hezbollah has declared on Saturday, it targeted an Israeli explosives factory in southern Haifa with a series of precision missiles.

Hezbollah stated in a press release, “This morning we targeted Base 7200, located in the southern part of Haifa city, by striking an explosives factory there with a series of precision missiles.” The group added that this action was in “support of our steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza, in defense of Lebanon and its people, and in response to the brutal Israeli aggression on our towns, villages, and civilians.”

Hezbollah had previously announced that it targeted “with a series of precision missiles” an Israeli military base in the south of the city of Haifa, which is situated in the north of Israel.

On Friday, Hezbollah warned residents of northern Israeli regions that their homes and military bases, located in residential areas including major cities, would be targeted.

Hezbollah accused the Israeli military of using these homes in northern Israeli regions as “gathering centers for its officers and soldiers,” and said that its military bases, which coordinate attacks on Lebanon, are located within these residential areas in major cities like “Haifa, Tiberias, and Acre.”

The statement also highlighted that “these homes and military bases are targets for our missile and aerial power.”

Residents were warned to “stay away from these military gatherings to preserve their lives until further notice.”

Recent tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have been escalating with significant military and diplomatic developments. Since September 2024, the conflict has intensified, with Hezbollah targeting Israeli locations and Israel responding with airstrikes in southern Lebanon, including Beirut and its suburbs. The conflict has expanded beyond the southern regions, leading to a considerable loss of life and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. Israel’s actions include targeting Hezbollah leaders and potential weapons depots, and there are concerns about a possible ground invasion extending to areas near Sidon.

The U.S. is closely monitoring the situation, expressing concerns about the escalation and discussing strategies to avoid direct confrontation. Despite these tensions, efforts are underway internationally to mediate and possibly secure a ceasefire, with the U.S. emphasizing the potential for diplomatic solutions to mitigate further violence.
