The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has expressed deep concern over the ongoing military operations in the region, highlighting their threat to both regional and international stability and security.
Jassim Mohammed Al-Badiwi, the Secretary-General of the GCC, issued a statement expressing grave concern over the military escalation in Yemen and the recent Israeli attacks in the Al-Hudaydah governorate on Saturday.
These actions, he noted, not only escalate tensions but also undermine ongoing efforts to end the war in Gaza and reach a political solution in Yemen.
Al-Badiwi emphasized that the continuation of military operations exacerbates the humanitarian situation in the region.
He called on all parties to exercise restraint and urged the international community and influential countries to take responsibility for ending the conflict.
He reiterated the importance of the GCC’s efforts to terminate the war in Gaza and support peace initiatives in Yemen.
Furthermore, Al-Badiwi stressed the need for continued international and United Nations (UN) efforts to halt the ongoing violations by Israeli forces and called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and all Palestinian territories.
He highlighted that these measures are crucial for breaking the cycle of conflict and achieving a peaceful resolution in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
