The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Friday, that 41,802 people have died since the conflict between Israel and Hamas erupted nearly a year ago.
In its daily statistical report, the ministry highlighted that the Israeli military “committed three massacres against families in Gaza in the past 24 hours, resulting in 14 deaths and 50 injuries” that reached local hospitals.
According to the ministry, the number of wounded and injured in the ongoing war in Gaza has risen to 96,844 over the 364 days of conflict.
The Palestinian Health Ministry further explained that many victims remain under rubble or on the streets, unreachable by ambulance and civil defense crews due to the ongoing hostilities.
Additionally, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported yesterday, Thursday, that an Israeli airstrike on the Tulkarm camp in the occupied West Bank resulted in 18 fatalities.
The Palestinian news agency revealed that “an Israeli warplane raid targeted a popular café in the Tulkarm camp in the northern West Bank.”
The report indicated that “Israeli warplanes fired at least one missile at a popular café in the Al-Hamam area of the Tulkarm camp while several civilians were present.”
This ongoing violence underscores the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has led to the destruction of more than two-thirds of the agricultural land in the enclave, posing an increased risk of famine, according to a report released by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
As of September 1, 67.6% of the agricultural land in Gaza, amounting to over 10,000 hectares, has been damaged.
The report, prepared in collaboration with the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT), indicates a significant escalation from 57.3% in May and 42.6% in February.
Specifically, 71.2% of orchards and fruit trees and 67.1% of field crops, particularly around Khan Yunis, have been affected. Additionally, 58.5% of vegetable crops have suffered damage.
