A fire broke out inside the American military base in the countryside of Hasakah, Syria, following intense shelling. According to the Syrian Observatory, the shelling directly hit the American base located at the Kharab Al-Jeer military airport in the countryside of Hasakah, while American aircraft were reported to be flying around the base area.
In recent months, U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria have seen an uptick in attacks, primarily attributed to Iran-backed militias. These attacks, which include rocket and drone strikes, have resulted in several injuries among U.S. personnel. Notable incidents include multiple attacks on the Al-Asad Airbase in Iraq and ongoing concerns over the security of forces stationed across both countries.
These developments come amidst broader regional tensions, including the impact of the conflict between Israel and Hamas and the overarching proxy conflicts in the Middle East
