The Egyptian Handball Federation has announced that Egypt will host the International Handball Federation’s (IHF) Super Globe World Club Championship, the premier global club-level handball competition, for the next three years.
The announcement came via the Federation’s official Facebook page, where it was revealed that Egypt secured the rights to organize the event, which features continental champions from around the world.
The upcoming edition is scheduled to take place in either October or November of this year.
The championship is set to be held in the state-of-the-art facility in Egypt’s new administrative capital, showcasing Egypt’s capabilities in hosting international sporting events.
In addition to the Super Globe, the IHF has also awarded Egypt the rights to host another major event, the ‘Championship of the Great Seven,’ which will feature the top seven national teams in the world.
The Federation highlighted the extensive efforts and high-level negotiations that took place behind the scenes, involving both the International and Egyptian Handball Federations.
The discussions were led by Dr. Mohamed Amin, head of the Egyptian Federation, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports.
This prestigious assignment reaffirms Egypt’s growing status as a hub for major international sports events, further bolstering its reputation in the global sports community.
