Egyptian ambassadors to Mediterranean countries have emphasized Egypt’s crucial role as a regional power in maintaining stability and promoting cooperation in the Mediterranean region.
Egypt has been actively working towards achieving the goals of the “Union for the Mediterranean”, which was founded 15 years ago to develop and enhance cooperation and constructive dialogue between Mediterranean countries.
Egypt has also been building genuine political, economic, and cultural partnerships with the 43 member countries of the Union for the Mediterranean, based on cooperation, common interests, and mutual benefits.
Egypt’s role in the Union has been pivotal, particularly after assuming joint presidency of the Union with France in 2008. Egypt has taken a lead role in managing the Union’s operations and coordinating between Arab countries in the South Mediterranean.
European countries regard Egypt as a crucial partner for Mediterranean cooperation due to its unique geographic location and historical and cultural ties with both North and South Mediterranean countries.
The ambassadors emphasized Egypt’s position as a beacon of light in the Mediterranean and a model for sustainable development and respect for international agreements.
Furthermore, they highlighted that Egypt’s unique geographic location and cultural ties make it a crucial player in maintaining peace and stability in the region. Egypt is actively working towards promoting peace, stability, and development in the region, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, communication, and mutual cooperation.
