The joint naval training activities (Red Wave-7) concluded with the participation of naval forces from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Yemen, and Djibouti, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian army.
The extensive maritime training lasted for several days in the territorial waters of Saudi Arabia, as part of the joint training plan of the Egyptian armed forces with friendly and sisterly countries.
The training included several lectures to unify the concepts of joint work among all participating elements, as well as training to counter fast boat attacks, visit and search rights, and the execution of various sailing formations demonstrating the cohesion between the joint units in training.
The final stage of the training included the execution of a practical statement on storming a coastal island under the cover of aerial fire by the air force elements, in addition to providing air support to the forces, reconnaissance of the island’s coast, and securing it, in preparation for the successful advance and storming by the forces.
Several naval leaders from the participating countries, as well as students from the Egyptian Naval College and the Military Technological College, attended the final stage of the training.
In January, the Egyptian and British military engineers engaged in collaborative training at the headquarters of Egypt’s Military Engineers Institute. It focused on effectively countering improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The training encompassed a series of theoretical and practical activities, introducing advanced methods using the latest tools to detect and handle IEDs on roads and in facilities, Abdel-Hafez said at the time.
