The Kuwaiti Public Prosecution announced on Thursday the arrest of a citizen accused of joining what it described as a banned group that planned “terrorist” acts in Saudi Arabia.
The Public Prosecution stated in a press release that it ordered the arrest of the citizen “on charges of joining a banned group, promoting it, disseminating information about it on the internet, and engaging in activities that could harm the national interests of the country; by disseminating information and recordings on social media platforms promoting the ideas of that group.”
The statement added that the accused “met with followers of the group, who planned terrorist acts in Saudi Arabia targeting the military force and the Shia community.”
The Public Prosecution mentioned that it interrogated the accused and confronted him with the charges against him, indicating that investigative procedures are ongoing
