The Bahraini Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications announced the resumption of regular flights with Syria, while the Syrian Ministry of Transport welcomed the decision, confirming efforts to schedule flights between the two countries’ airports.

Bahrain News Agency quoted Bahrain’s Civil Aviation Affairs saying in a statement today: “Details of the scheduled flights and their number will be announced soon after completing all procedures and issuing the official licenses in this regard.”

It clarified that this decision comes to add new destinations and provide better options for travelers through Bahrain International Airport.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Ministry of Transport welcomed the decision of the Bahraini Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications to resume flights between Syria and the Kingdom of Bahrain via Syrian Airlines.

The ministry pointed out that the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority is following all the procedures and requirements that serve this operation to facilitate air transport between the two sisterly countries.

Eng. Basem Mansour, Director-General of Syrian Civil Aviation, explained that the Syrian Aviation Corporation will work in the coming period to schedule regular flights between the airports of the two countries, in coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, indicating that the schedules and flight schedules will be announced as soon as they are arranged.

In December, the Syrian Ministry of Transport announced the resumption of Algerian flights to Syria after more than ten years of suspension. This step was regarded as a reflection of the strong and fraternal ties between the two nations. It was seen as a push towards more joint work in various fields, promising benefits and prosperity for both peoples. The move marked a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between Algeria and Syria, indicating a renewed interest in strengthening ties and collaboration in areas beyond aviation.

The resumption of flights is anticipated to bolster tourism, business, and cultural exchanges, enhancing the connection between the two countries.
