The Arab Women’s Committee at the Arab League has expressed its deep concern, strong condemnation, and utter dismay at the dangerous escalation by the occupying force in the Palestinian territories, including Gaza.
This escalation has inflicted devastating humanitarian, social, and psychological consequences on the resilient Palestinian people, particularly Palestinian women and children. The committee emphatically rejects any calls for the forced displacement of Palestinians made by the Israeli occupation.
The committee views the violations, crimes, and transgressions committed by the ruthless Israeli aggression as a form of collective punishment against the steadfast Palestinian people. It perceives these actions as part of a calculated plan to create a new and complex refugee crisis, forcing 2.3 million Palestinians into migration and refuge.
The Palestinian population, in their unwavering resilience, faces involuntary displacement and the loss of homes and properties. Families are losing their stability, and accessing basic services such as healthcare, education, and protection becomes increasingly difficult.
Continuing the criminal actions taken by the occupying force against Palestinians, such as cutting off electricity, food, water, and fuel supplies to Gaza, will only exacerbate the suffering endured by the Palestinian people.
The committee unequivocally condemns the bombing of Al-Ahli Hospital in eastern Gaza by the occupying forces. This attack resulted in the tragic loss of numerous Palestinian lives. Initial reports suggest that at least 500 Palestinians have been martyred in this assault, which constitutes a war crime against innocent civilians. This reprehensible act is in clear violation of international laws and fundamental human ethics that prohibit targeting medical facilities during conflicts.
These urgent events demand a transparent international investigation and the prosecution of those responsible for this heinous crime, according to the committee. Justice must be served for the victims and their families.
The international community is called upon to act collectively and decisively to halt these violent actions and usher in peace in the region. Palestinians have endured years of conflict, siege, and ongoing violence.
The committee underscores that history will record that 66% of the victims of the Israeli aggression on Gaza are women and children. The human losses resulting from the violations and crimes of the occupying force are reaching alarming levels.
Depriving women and children of access to food and basic services, as well as attacks on civilian areas and infrastructure—including hospitals and schools—jeopardizes their lives and well-being. The international community must act swiftly to protect the most vulnerable and bring an end to the suffering endured by the Palestinian people.
