On Monday, the Arab Parliament strongly condemned the brutal Israeli raid in the northern West Bank city of Jenin that left four Palestinians killed and wounded at least 62.
In a statement, the Parliament described the indiscriminate aerial bombardment, missile attacks, and the use of gunfire and poisonous gas in Jenin as an alarming military escalation that signals the risk of a fresh cycle of violence. It also held the right-wing extremist Israeli government fully accountable for these tragic incidents.
The Parliament expressed grave concern over the international community’s reticence in the face of ongoing events in Palestinian territories.
This is particularly noticeable since the extremist government led by Netanyahu took the helm, with inflammatory statements from extremist ministers that openly incite violence and murder. The Parliament opined that the lack of a firm stance and the failure to hold the occupying authorities accountable has only encouraged more serious violations.
The Arab Parliament pointed out that the unceasing Israeli intrusions into occupied Palestinian cities, combined with a complete stagnation in the peace process, are pushing towards a precarious escalation threatening the security and stability of the region.
It called upon the international community, including the United Nations Security Council, human rights organizations, and the U.S. administration, to end their silence.
The Parliament implored immediate action to halt the aggressions and daily atrocities inflicted on the Palestinian people, their resources, and cities. It further emphasized the necessity to hold the culprits accountable and provide international protection for the unarmed Palestinian population.
