The Algerian presidential website announced on Tuesday that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will be visiting Russia for three days upon the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The official Algerian presidency website stated: “At the invitation of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is embarking on a state visit to Russia lasting three days, as part of enhancing cooperation between the two friendly countries.”
In response to a related question on the sidelines of the Russia-Islamic World Forum “Kazan Forum,” Mikhail Bogdanov, the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, and Deputy Foreign Minister, stated on May 19th that preparations for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s visit to Russia are underway, but the dates have not been agreed upon yet.
Bogdanov mentioned, “Preparations are indeed underway. The preparations have been ongoing for a long time. It was supposed to take place in January, but it was postponed after that.” He also pointed out that the dates for the visit have not been agreed upon yet.
In January, the Russian presidency announced that Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune agreed during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Moscow in the coming month of May.
