Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Wednesday, confirmed that Algeria, which is striving to transform into a military, economic, and diplomatic power in Africa, requires the expertise of China, which has become one of the most powerful countries in the world in various fields.
President Tebboune, during his meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, stated that Algerian-Chinese relations are “very good, and the countries exchange absolute assistance and support,” adding that “China is a friendly country and has become one of the most powerful countries in the world economically, diplomatically, and militarily.”

He clarified that the projects discussed on Tuesday during his talks with his Chinese counterpart are “structural projects,” and that Algeria is taking steady steps to ascend to a new stage as a military, economic, and diplomatic power on the African continent. He said, “We need Chinese expertise” and hope that “we will achieve positive results as soon as possible.”

The President of the Republic renewed “Algeria’s readiness to cooperate with China in all fields, such as mining exploitation and factory development,” praising, in the same context, the project to build a factory for electric car batteries in Algeria by the Chinese partner, as well as projects in the electronics industry.
For his part, the Chinese Premier confirmed that his country is striving to make President Tebboune’s state visit to China “a new beginning in the relations” between the two countries to achieve the aspirations of the two peoples.

Algeria and China Coordination in the Security Council
On the other hand, the President of the Republic met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s National Congress, Li Ji, where he expressed “his pride and honor to be at the headquarters (People’s Palace) which represents the friendly Chinese people and its long journey in ‘development and liberation’,” reiterating that the relations between the two countries are “good.”
After mentioning the existing cooperation between the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s National Congress and the existence of a parliamentary friendship committee between the two bodies, President Tebboune emphasized the necessity of “providing more support for this committee and intensifying coordination and exchange of views and visits” between them, especially in the light of the convergence between the two countries, calling for the establishment of a “consultation body” between representatives of the two peoples.

Algeria: A Promising Investment Destination
In his message to the Algerian-Chinese Business Forum, held in Beijing, read on his behalf by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, President Tebboune confirmed that Algeria “enjoys many advantages today that have made it a promising investment destination in vital fields such as agriculture, energy, food and pharmaceutical industries,” as well as “tourism, transportation, service sector, renewable energies, and base facilities, thanks to the decisions and measures we have begun to liberate initiative and make room for competition.”

He mentioned that Algeria “continues to develop the energy sector through exploration and production of oil and gas operations to ensure higher levels of conversion, and is working on the valuation and exploitation of its capabilities in the mining sector by providing an encouraging investment climate based on efficiency and economic competitiveness by encouraging entrepreneurship, knowledge economy, emerging companies, and reforming the banking and financial system.”
