Saudi Arabia Calls for “Strict” Sports Regulations

The Saudi Public Prosecution emphasized the necessity for sports spectators to adhere to the regulations and guidelines governing sports events.

The announcement comes in response to a video circulating on social media showing individuals storming a football stadium in Saudi Arabia.

A reliable source from the Saudi Public Prosecution highlighted the “importance of sports fans adhering to the regulations and guidelines for sports events, which include refraining from entering the field, disrupting the game, affecting the safety of others, or engaging in any prohibited conduct.”

The source urged “all spectators to comply with these guidelines, avoiding any violations that could tarnish events or occasions in general, and sports events in particular,” according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

In the same vein, the Saudi Ministry of Interior highlighted that three individuals were apprehended for trespassing onto the field during a football match, where they were stopped and proper legal measures were taken against them, subsequently referring them to the public prosecution.
