Jordan’s King Abdullah II emphasized, the urgent need to intensify efforts towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace between Palestinians and Israelis. This peace is to be based on the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
This statement was made during a reception at the Beit Al-Urdun (Jordan’s Royal Palace) for Brett McGurk, the U.S. President’s Deputy Assistant and the White House Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa.
The meeting, also attended by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, discussed the strong friendship between Jordan and the United States. Both parties deliberated on ways to bolster the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Additionally, they reviewed the latest developments on regional and international fronts, with the Palestinian issue being at the forefront of discussions.
In attendance at the session were Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Director of the King’s Office.
