Sam Rose, the Deputy Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), has condemned the Israeli aerial bombing that targeted a school sheltering displaced individuals in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip.
In a statement to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on Friday, Rose reported that the bombing resulted in the deaths of 28 individuals, including women and children seeking shelter in the area. He emphasized that Israel must exert greater efforts to protect civilians, as they have nowhere else to turn.
Rose highlighted that this incident is one among a series of attacks targeting UNRWA schools and called for independent investigations to determine the reasons and circumstances behind this Israeli bombing.
The Israeli forces had struck the “Abu Hussein” school, which was providing refuge to displaced persons in the Jabalia camp on Thursday, leading to numerous fatalities and injuries.
