Hezbollah fired approximately 105 rockets towards Haifa Bay, the Upper Galilee, and Central Galilee on Tuesday, according to the Israeli military.

The Israel Air Force’s defense systems intercepted many of the projectiles, though some rockets hit their targets.

A woman in her 70s was injured by shrapnel in Haifa, and a rocket struck a residential building in Kiryat Yam, north of Haifa, Israeli media reported.

Hezbollah confirmed the attack, stating it launched a large salvo of missiles targeting Haifa and surrounding areas in response to Israeli airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs earlier that day.

The group said the action was taken in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and to defend Lebanon.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded by launching airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Beirut. Additionally, the IDF deployed its reserve 146th Armor Division to conduct “targeted operational activities” in southwestern Lebanon. This marks the fourth division Israel has sent across the border and the first reserve unit to be deployed since the escalation began.
