The number of dead and missing in Gaza has risen to nearly 51,000 as a result of Israeli military operations since October 7, 2023, according to medical and media reports. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that at least 41,909 Palestinians have been killed due to the Israeli strikes. Palestinian medical sources estimate that around 10,000 people are still missing, either under rubble or in inaccessible areas since the start of the military offensive.

In addition, the number of injured in Gaza has reached close to 100,000, with the Ministry reporting 97,303 injuries since October 7. On the Israeli side, according to Israeli broadcasting reports, 728 soldiers and officers have been killed, and 4,576 have been injured since the beginning of the war on Gaza.

The current conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a large-scale surprise attack on Israel, marking the start of what is now known as the Israel-Hamas war. Hamas initiated the conflict by firing over 3,000 rockets and conducting coordinated incursions into Israeli territory, which led to the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis and the abduction of around 250 people. This sparked a full-scale military response from Israel, which has led to the destruction of significant infrastructure in Gaza and a humanitarian crisis. This conflict has been one of the deadliest in the region in recent decades
