The Palestinian News Agency reported that dozens were killed and several Palestinians were wounded due to Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas in the Gaza Strip.
The agency, quoting medical sources, said that two Palestinians, including a girl, were killed Sunday night in an Israeli bombardment of the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.
The agency noted that at least 18 people were killed and dozens injured in an Israeli airstrike on a mosque in Gaza early Sunday morning.
The attack on the mosque, located near Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, coincided with the approach of the first anniversary of the war that Israel is waging against Hamas.
The Israeli military stated, “Following intelligence information from the Israeli Defense Forces and Shin Bet, the Israeli Air Force executed a precise strike on Hamas terrorists operating inside the command and control center, which was previously a mosque in the Deir al-Balah area.”
According to the agency, paramedics transferred 10 dead and several wounded to Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalia refugee camp after they were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Jabalia Town, Saturday evening.
Two Palestinians were killed, and others were injured after Israeli planes bombed an apartment in Jabalia refugee camp.
Also, according to the agency, Red Crescent paramedics also transferred the bodies of three individuals and several injured to al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia refugee camp after Israeli planes bombed a house in Bir al-Najah, west of Jabalia refugee camp.
The agency mentioned that Palestinians were killed near Jabalia Services Club after an Israeli strike on a water distribution truck.
Seven Palestinians were killed and others injured Saturday evening in an Israeli bombardment targeting two houses in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and Jabalia in the north.
The latest war in Gaza erupted after gunmen led by Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7th last year.
The attack resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people and the taking of 250 hostages, according to Israeli statistics.
The subsequent Israeli attack on Gaza killed nearly 42,000 Palestinians, according to the Health Ministry in the region, in addition to displacing nearly all of the approximately 2.3 million inhabitants.
International diplomacy led by the United States has so far failed to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, as Hamas seeks an agreement to end the war while Israel says the fighting will not end until the movement is eradicated.
