Hezbollah has announced the destruction of three Israeli Merkava tanks using guided missiles in the southern Lebanese town of Maroun al-Ras on Wednesday afternoon.

The militant group, which has been in an ongoing conflict with Israel, claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement, underscoring the intensifying military confrontations along the Lebanon-Israel border.

In separate statements issued earlier on Wednesday, Hezbollah reported repelling an Israeli force attempting to infiltrate the town of Al-Adaysseh, forcing it to retreat.

Additionally, the group said it targeted Israeli forces stationed at various military posts, including the Shumaira Barracks, Shatula, Misgav Am, south of Kiryat Shmona, as well as the Zar’it and Avivim barracks.

It also claimed strikes on settlements near Haifa, including Adamit and locations north of the city.

These developments follow the Israeli army’s announcement on Tuesday of a limited ground operation in southern Lebanon, signaling an escalation in the conflict that has seen frequent cross-border attacks in recent weeks.
