Osama Hamad, the Prime Minister appointed by Libya’s House of Representatives, held a phone call with Guinea-Bissau’s Prime Minister, Rui Duarte de Barros, on Tuesday to discuss enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to a statement released by the Libyan government’s Facebook page, the call focused on exchanging views about strengthening ties and exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

This dialogue follows a visit in late July by Mohamed Jamil Darba, the former advisor to Guinea-Bissau’s ex-Prime Minister, who met with Issa Abdul Majeed, Libya’s Minister of African Affairs, in Benghazi.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to deepen bilateral relations and exchange expertise across various sectors.

Darba also delivered a verbal message from former Guinea-Bissau Prime Minister Geraldo Martins to Osama Hamad, emphasizing the importance of collaboration on several projects aimed at achieving shared strategic objectives, according to a government statement.

This continued diplomatic engagement marks a step forward in strengthening ties between Libya and Guinea-Bissau, particularly in sectors critical to both countries’ development.
