Saudi Arabia has officially reopened its embassy in Damascus, marking a significant step in restoring diplomatic ties between the two nations. Senior Syrian officials and diplomats attended the inauguration ceremony.
Saudi Ambassador Faisal bin Saud al-Mujfel, the Kingdom’s first envoy to Syria since 2012, expressed commitment to strengthening relations between Riyadh and Damascus. He described the reopening as a historic day for both countries.
Riyadh and Damascus restored diplomatic ties in October, just days after Syria was reinstated into the Arab League. Flights between the two nations have also resumed, signaling a broader effort to rebuild bilateral relations.
