In a statement on Telegram, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for targeting the headquarters of the Israeli army’s 210th Golan Division in the Nafah barracks using “squadrons of suicide drones.” The attack was in response to recent assassinations of Hezbollah personnel.
These drones have become a central feature of Hezbollah’s recent attacks on Israel, including a retaliatory strike on Sunday following Israel’s late-July attack on Beirut.
The U.N. Security Council has called for an immediate halt to the escalating attacks between Hezbollah and Israeli forces, warning that further escalation carries the high risk of leading to a widespread conflict.
Although Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah pulled back after a heavy exchange of fire across the U.N.-drawn boundary between Lebanon and Israel over the weekend, their decades-old conflict remains unresolved. Regional tensions, especially those linked to the ongoing war in Gaza, continue to run high.
