The UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, stated that the UAE believes true security, stability, and peace in the region can only be achieved through a sustainable and just resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and a political process.
She emphasized that this solution must lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state living in peace and security alongside the State of Israel, in accordance with bilateral agreements and international law. This process should go hand in hand with enhancing the humanitarian response to the dire situation in Gaza, according to an official statement from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The UAE, under the directives of its wise leadership and in line with its historical commitment to the Palestinian people, continues to provide urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza. The UAE has spared no effort in assisting the Palestinian brothers and offering initiatives to support them by land, sea, and air.
Al Hashimy highlighted that over the past ten months, the UAE has delivered 39,756 tons of urgent supplies to Gaza through 8 ships, 1,271 trucks, and 337 flights.
She further noted that the UAE will continue to work diligently and play a leading role alongside the United Nations and international partners to intensify efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering.
The minister stressed that returning to the dire situation that existed before October 7, 2023, cannot achieve the sustainable peace desired by Palestinians, Israelis, and everyone.
She added that the UAE sees the path to stability and security in Palestinian territories and the entire region beginning with an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all prisoners and hostages.
