Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, a member of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid to citizens across all states.

This commitment includes issuing visas to aid teams and employees of organizations involved in humanitarian efforts.

According to the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA), this information was disclosed during a briefing given to Dr. Ridwan Nuwaiser, the United Nations expert on human rights in Sudan, about the humanitarian situation in Sudan since the onset of the conflict and the level of coordination between executive and security agencies to deliver aid to its rightful recipients.

During the meeting, the Council member stressed the importance of protecting civilians, ensuring the safe passage of aid convoys, and holding accountable those who have violated human rights in Sudan.

Dr. Nuwaiser highlighted the need to facilitate the operations of relief teams, journalists, lawyers, UN staff, and partners from international organizations within Sudan.

He expressed satisfaction with the Sudanese government’s responsiveness and understanding concerning humanitarian aid issues, hoping for lasting peace and stability in the country.

In related developments, Sudan’s Minister of Justice, Muawiya Osman Mohamed Khair, emphasized the importance of the UN expert’s mission to personally assess violations of international humanitarian law by the Rapid Support Forces.

The Justice Minister confirmed the government’s cooperation with human rights mechanisms and reviewed efforts to protect civilians and promote human rights in Sudan.
