Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russian forces launched more than 40 missiles on Monday, hitting several Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kyiv.

Zelensky stated that the missiles struck Kyiv as well as the regions of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk. He mentioned that residential buildings, infrastructure, and a children’s hospital were hit, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

He added that all emergency services are working at full capacity to save as many lives as possible, confirming that there are people trapped under the rubble of the children’s hospital in Kyiv following the shelling.

Russian strikes targeted three electrical power facilities in Kyiv during a new series of intense attacks that resulted in the death of at least 20 people in Ukraine.

According to a statement by the DTEK company, “Three substation transformers were damaged in the Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, in addition to damage to power lines.”
